I inaccurately measured the area where the Blackout EZ window cover was to be installed. My bad. I called my handygirl nieces, queens of home makeovers. They measured and cut the custom cover to perfectly fit the window and installed it. The room is blacked out exactly as advertised, and from the outside, it simply looks as though there's a white solid blind covering the window.
The cover was installed prior to the arrival of my son, daughter-in-law, and their babies' arrival for Thanksgiving. The super-dark room allowed the babies to sleep more soundly than they do at home, according to their mother. That was exactly what I wanted.
I recommend Blackout EZ to anyone who needs a completely dark room for sleeping. This is a great product.
